My doodles went on a fluid ride to form a unique thoughtfully designed heart, with "I love you" in sign language at the center. A beautiful personal way to say I love you, this Valentines Day!
This is original artwork done with fine liner pens on paper. It was created for a Community-driven Art Exhibition called "Art of the Matter". The theme was "What matters to you?". SO here's what matters to me..
An Inclusive Society:
After going deaf 3 yrs ago..I realize what I took for granted in the 29 hearing-years of my life. Its NOT all bad but unknowingly many people with disabilities are often marginalized in our country. Happens in all spheres from relationships to being considered a liability or sidelined in a work place. The barriers can be physical, attitudinal or psychological. Once these barriers are removed with absolutely no pity, no sympathy, no charity; just equality and consideration for limitations, we can then celebrate an inclusive society where everyone is respected and appreciated for the things they CAN (rather than cant) do! I am lucky to be surrounded by many AMAZING people and that makes most hurdles a blur. This artwork says I love you in Sign Language. (You just learnt your first sign, yay!)
